God is not looking for robots, programmed to serve and obey Him. He wants us free! - because He wants a love relationship! You cannot force someone to love you. There is not truly a love relationship unless there is a choice. Unless there is freedom!

Freedom under God is one of the testimonies of our great Creator through creation. “For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen…” (Romans 1:20). And we see God’s valuation of freedom all through the Bible. America’s founders had a good grasp of this, and put “freedom under God” front and center in their organization of the United States.
